Christina Kilbourne is an award-winning Canadian author. She was born in Southwestern Ontario, but spent her elementary and high school years in Muskoka, a resort area two hours north of Toronto.
She graduated with an Honours BA in English Literature and Anthropology from the University of Western Ontario and received a Masters degree in Creative Writing and English Literature from the University of Windsor, Ontario.
Upon graduating, Christina travelled through Africa, Mexico, Central and South America and spent two years in New Zealand.
She has worked in various jobs writing and designing newsletters, brochures, handbooks, reports and websites for such organizations as CIBC, the Auckland University of Technology, the Regional Municipality of York, Conservation Ontario and The District Municipality of Muskoka.
Christina currently lives in Bracebridge, Ontario.
About Her Books
- Christina Kilbourne writes fiction for all ages and has published books in the genres of adult literary fiction, young adult fiction and middle grade fiction.
- Her most recent young adult novel, 40 Days in Hicksville, was released in October 2023.
- Christina's book, Dear Jo, won three young reader's choice awards in Canada in the same year - one in Manitoba, one in Saskatchewan and one in British Columbia. It was also nominated for a New York State young reader's choice award.
- Her writing has been translated into Slovenian, Ukrainian, Portuguese, Spanish and Braille. She is a member of The Writers Union of Canada and CANSCAIP.
